""The Hake specializes in gourmet seafood, but its new cocktail menu is equally impressive. Try the Japanese Spell, mixed with coffee grain whisky and a green tea tincture."

"For someone who doesn't consider themselves a huge seafood lover, I was overwhelming satisfied with the food at this restaurant. I ate here one night as a plus one for an elite yelp event where myself and the person I was with ordered a cocktail each, three small plates and a dessert. The food was fantastic with so many flavors that complemented each other well. In addition, the service from our waitress and the mana manager was outstanding. Our waitress was so kind and patient with us as she gave us suggestions as helped us decide what to order. The manager was also very kind as he came over to the table several times to make sure that we were satisfied! I will definitely be back here again and will recommend this restaurant to others!! Great experience!"

"Terrific!!!

This has been my second time visiting. The food was great, so was the service. I had the avacado fries, bass, and the nutella cake with the goji berries. I like everything about this place. The atmosphere is laidback the music is very chill, the ocean breeze flows through the hallway and just takes this restaurant to another level.

Love this place!"

""Equally gorgeous as it is delicious, this offering in La Jolla uses salmon belly in a new and unexpected way. House-cured salmon is highlighted with paper-thin slivers of cucumber, pickled mustard seeds and red onion. A wasabi crème fraîche adds creaminess and bit of tang to the refreshing dish."

"Incredible food and wonderful atmosphere. The staff is very nice and professional. Service was great. We tried several plates of the appetizers and shared plates instead of getting one entree each. Every dish was amazing. The portions are more than reasonable. You get to not only just taste but really enjoy the dishes. The ceviche was great, a nice blend of classic flavors, not overly citrusy. The roasted octopus was one of the best dishes we've ever had. Perfectly cooked tender octopus and incredible smoked paprika spread on the side of the bowl just went perfectly together. Also tried the lettuce wraps that tasted like light bahn mi. A perfect flavor. The shrimp fideo was another highlight. A perfect blend of saffron and hearty surf and turf flavors with the angel hair pasta. So glad to have found this little gem of a restaurant. Can't wait to come back soon!"

""While in La Jolla, we got the chance to swing by The Hake Kitchen & Bar for some drinks and small bites. When it first opened, it started with a menu from its sister restaurants in Mexico City, which by the way is some of the best there! But over time, Hake has developed it's own flavors and dishes that have since been sent back down to the sister restaurants to serve."

"Before you start thinking about pumpkin-laced beverages and pecan pies, we recommend grabbing these summer dishes before they’re gone.

Seasonal Farm Salad at The Hake Kitchen & Bar

Watermelon gets a pickled turn in this salad alongside silvers of grapefruit, basil, pea leaves and mint that are tied together with a tangy avocado vinaigrette garnished with pumpkin seeds."

""I visited the restaurant a few weeks ago to enjoy some of their strong flavored, fresh dishes. As usual, I had a fantastic experience. I started off with one of their original drinks, the One Hot Cucumber with Jalapeno Infused Tequila, Agave, Cucumber Puree, Lime Juice and Tajin Rim. It is spicy, hot and fresh. Definitely worth trying.""
